Virginia Elks Programs
ELKS YOUTH CAMP
Around 1947-48, it was decided by the membership of the Virginia State Elks Association to promote a camp for deserving boys as a State Project. At that time a Board of Directors was elected, and committees were appointed to purchase property and to organize and carry out the work.
As a result, since the first campers came in 1949, we have had one of the finest camps in the country. Over the years, girls were included in the camp. Boys and girls between the ages of 8 to 13 are now accepted at the camp, therefore the “Virginia Elks Youth Camp” was instituted. The Major Project of the Virginia Elks Association has welcomed over 50,000 campers to our beloved camp located at Millboro, Virginia on the pristine Cowpasture River. Our guiding principle is “Making Memories…” VIRGINIA ELKS CHARITABLE TRUST FUND, INC
Established in 2004, the Virginia Elks Charitable Trust Fund started with a goal of raising funds. These funds are invested so that future invested income will be used by Virginia Elks Lodges for Charitable Programs. The fund has many charitable donations from Elks through direct donations and legacy, ER Walks, as well as donations from Lodges due to their fund-raising efforts. This committee has hosted several fund raisers that have been significant in furthering the fund and its footprint in the Virginia Elks Association.

AMERICANISM
The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is a distinctively American organization. One of our many goals is to promote American patriotism in our Community and in our Youth, and to stimulate awareness - a genuine feeling of pride and respect - toward our great Nation, its history, and our Flag. We, as Elks, serve as constant reminders to the people of our Nation that American truly means freedom and that Elks Care - Elks Share. ELKS NATIONAL VETERANS SERVICE COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Elks National Veterans Service Committee is to improve the health and welfare of Veterans. Therefore, we support our Virginia Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers and pledge "So long as there are Veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them." DRUG AWARENESS PROGRAM
The Virginia Elks Associations ~ Drug Awareness Program, (DAP), is a vital link in the National Elks chain of the largest all volunteer Drug Awareness program leaders. Educational activities and contests across the ages provide positive peer reinforcement to the decision making vital to substance abuse prevention. The dedicated volunteers within this focused effort provide parents, educators, and community leaders with the tools needed to support the choice to make sound anti-drug choices. |
