State Public Relations Contest
2010 – 2011
Dear Virginia Exalted Rulers:
The emphasis on Public Relations will be enhanced by a new recognition program only for Virginia Lodges.
It involves Virginia Lodges filing their monthly Public Relations Report Form no later than the 5th of the following month with their respective District Chairman and earning and reporting points by your Lodge’s activities.
The Lodge in each Grand Lodge Membership Category, listed below as per April 1, 2009 statistics, that files all of their monthly Public Relations Reports (June 2010 report thru March 2011 report) and earns the highest number of Public Relations points will be recognized and rewarded during the June 2011 VEA Convention:
1)
300 Members
or less: Norfolk, Elks National Home, Manassas, Loudoun, Pulaski, Northern
Neck, Warrenton-Culpeper, Suffolk, Richmond, Virginia Beach, Newport News,
Danville, Galax, Clifton Forge, Petersburg and Portsmouth-Chesapeake.
2) 301 - 500 Members: Hampton, Front Royal, Staunton, Onancock,
Alexandria, Martinsville, Waynesboro and Woodbridge
3) 501 - 700 Members: Harrisonburg, Lynchburg and Winchester
4) 701 - 1100 Members: Roanoke, Bedford, Fredericksburg,
Arlington-Fairfax and Charlottesville.
The Public Relations goals and District Chairmen are as follows:

The Public Relations Committee is to communicate and enhance the positive image of Elkdom to the Virginia Elks Association members, their families and the public at large. This makes known our purpose, goals, activities and charitable service programs of our Order and Subordinate Lodges.

PS: Each Lodge has an outdoor sign advertising the Lodge. At a minimum, that is one point in the “SIGNS” category. So, each Lodge has automatically earned one point for each and every month. All you have to do is file that report in a timely manner.
