Drug Awareness hosts a Special Guest Speaker - Milton Creagh 7/9/2010
The State Drug Awareness Program will be bringing Milton Creagh to the State of Virginia to talk to our Kids and Parents about drugs and alcohol use among our Kids, October 5,6 and 7 and hope with donations the 8th also.
Milton Creagh, aka Big Milt, is best know for his hard-hitting, inspirational talks to high school students. Speaking to more than 200,000 young adults annually, Milt is one of the most in-demand speakers for teens in America. He has spoken in 49 states as well as Canada, South America, Central America, the Caribbean and Africa. Milt is the host of the award winning Masquerade: Unveiling Our Deadly Dance with Drugs and Alcohol and Face Reality: Uncovering the Lies of Adult Alcohol and Drug Use.
What a way to get the Elks name out in the community and also provide the communities with all the information on all our great programs, Hoop Shoot, Soccer Shoot, Scholarships and our Veterans Programs, just to name a few. The Elks in the State of Virginia need a program of this magnitude to help jump start a greater presence in our communities and show what the Elks is all about and that "Elks Care and Elks Share" I would hope that each Lodge will support this project and truly show what our Kids mean to our communities.

Earlier note from 4/25/2010
The Virginia State Elks Drug Awareness Program will be having one of our Nations best Speakers come to our State and speak at a number of events throughout the State. Milton Creagh has spoke to more preteen and teenagers throughout our country than any other person on the effects of drug and alcohol abuse to bulling and teen rape. He will be visiting some time in October. The final dates will come at a later date. The Drug Awareness Program is asking each lodge in our state for a $50.00 donation to help off set the cost. We need to raise at least $1500.00.
The Grand Lodge Program takes care of the largest amount, but we have to pay Hotel, Travel while in state and meals. More details we be coming at the State Convention in June.
We also have 2 Elroys and they want to be around "KIDS". Please contact your District Chair or State Chair Pete Decatur to book Elroy.
